HMP Global to Introduce Journal of Critical Limb Ischemia in Spring of 2021
December 17, 2020
First peer-reviewed online journal dedicated to important CLI research marks another key addition to company’s Cardiovascular Learning Network
MALVERN, PA, DECEMBER 16, 2020 – As part of its continued mission to connect the global healthcare community with clinically relevant information and education that improves patient care, HMP Global, a leading healthcare event and education company, has announced the upcoming launch of a brand-new, online-only journal titled Journal of Critical Limb Ischemia. Set to release in the Spring of 2021, it will serve as the official journal of the Critical Limb Ischemia (CLI) Global Society and will provide an international forum for the presentation of original research, randomized trials, large registry studies, and recent results related to all facets of diagnostic, therapeutic and pathophysiologic aspects of critical limb ischemia. Articles will be reviewed by multidisciplinary CLI experts spanning the fields of interventional radiology, interventional cardiology, podiatry, wound care, and diabetology who not only understand the complex nature of critical limb ischemia, but also substantially influence the clinical practice of treating the comorbidities present in patients presenting with advanced disease.
Serving as Editor-in-Chief of Journal of Critical Limb Ischemia will be Jihad A. Mustapha, MD, founder of the Amputation Prevention Symposium (AMP) and co-founder of CLI Global Society. Journal of Critical Limb Ischemia is the first peer-reviewed academic journal centered on this devastatingly underdiagnosed and undertreated disease and will be published quarterly. More than 3.8 million patients suffer from CLI in the United States and the European Union; this number is expected to increase by 23% over the next decade.
"While awareness for CLI continues to grow worldwide, there is still a need for enhanced attention to awareness, research, guidelines, and education on the global stage,” said Dr. Mustapha. “As such, the Journal of Critical Limb Ischemia will address the existing educational gap by shedding light on original research, peer-reviewed by multidisciplinary, global CLI experts who understand the complex nature of critical limb ischemia.”
The first issue of the Journal of Critical Limb Ischemia is scheduled for Spring of 2021.
The article submission portal is presently open for the Journal of Critical Limb Ischemia. If you would like to contribute, please visit editorialmanager.com/clig/default.aspx.
