AIBD 2025: Spotlighting the future of treatment pathways and patient-centered care
October 23, 2025
By Millie D. Long, MD, MPH, FACG
Co-Chair, Advances in Inflammatory Bowel Diseases (AIBD)
Educational program explores precision medicine, guideline updates, and real-world strategies designed to improve IBD patient outcomes.
When I attend Advances in Inflammatory Bowel Diseases (AIBD) each year, I am reminded why this meeting is a central focus for so many of us who care for patients with Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. Each year, AIBD delivers an unmatched educational program that takes the latest research and translates it into clear, practical tools for our clinics.
Why this meeting matters
Up to 40% of IBD patients may not respond adequately to initial biologic therapy, highlighting the need for precision approaches. And IBD is evolving rapidly — new guidelines, therapeutic options, and monitoring strategies are reshaping the standard of care, but knowing how to use these advances in real-world practice can be challenging.
At AIBD 2025, our goal is to equip you with practical updates in diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring that you can apply immediately. This includes personalized therapies for the right patient, managing complications, and addressing the many extraintestinal manifestations that affect quality of life.
Pre-conference workshops
The meeting begins with immersive workshops on December 7 designed to give you hands-on strategies before the main sessions start:
- Building the IBD Center Workshop
- Fellows Workshop
- IBD Treatment 101
- Women in IBD Leadership Workshop
AIBD APP Institute Days
After two highly successful virtual events, the AIBD APP Institute is expanding and hosting an in-person event for the first time on December 6-7 in Orlando. Created by the educational leaders behind Advances in IBD, this program is dedicated to meeting the unique needs of APPs in IBD care — empowering you with knowledge, skills, and community.
