MALVERN Pa., (January 26, 2023) — HMP Global, the leading omnichannel healthcare company, today announced that Psych Congress Steering Committee member Dr. Craig Chepke has been named Scientific Advisor for the entire Psych Congress portfolio, including Psych Congress, the nation’s largest independent mental health educational conference on practical psychopharmacology, Psych Congress Elevate, Psych Congress Regionals, and the newly announced Psych Congress NP Institute In-Person event.
For 36 years, Psych Congress has delivered practical, case-based education to an exceptional community of mental healthcare providers nationwide, with a goal of improving outcomes for patients. As Scientific Advisor, Dr. Chepke will work closely with the steering committees and faculty of Psych Congress events and programs to develop high-quality practical and advanced evidence-based educational content relevant to all mental health team members.
“I’ve heard Dr. Chepke described as a rising star, but I disagree," said Rakesh Jain, MD, MPH, Psych Congress Co-Chair and Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at Texas Tech University School of Medicine. “His star has fully risen and is shining brightly! Having worked closely with him over the past several years, I believe he is truly a once-in-a-generation talent. I couldn’t be more excited for him to deepen his commitment to Psych Congress."
Dr. Chepke is the medical director of Excel Psychiatric Associates in Huntersville, NC, and an adjunct associate professor of psychiatry for Atrium Health. He is a member of the Huntington Study Group and has been named a Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association. A leader and innovator in education, Dr. Chepke has lectured and presented research nationally and internationally on diverse topics, including serious mental illness, movement disorders, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, and sleep medicine.
“Part of what inspired me to become a physician was the opportunity to teach every patient every day, empowering them to take a more active role in their health,” Chepke said. “Being a part of the continuing education of colleagues striving to do the same is truly a joy, and there’s no better place to do so than Psych Congress. I’m excited for this opportunity to help direct our overall educational mission in service of that goal.”
“Over the 36-year history of Psych Congress, the educational program has evolved and grown, meeting the ongoing educational needs of mental health clinicians in a field that has also evolved and grown,” said Randy Robbin, President, HMP Education, the medical education arm of HMP Global. “Dr. Chepke’s leadership and expertise will ensure that Psych Congress will continue to be a national leader in this space, offering a high level of comprehensive psychopharmacology education combined with state-of-the-art treatment approaches and emerging research findings.”
Psych Congress programs and sessions are unique, integrated forums to connect members of the entire mental health team with internationally renowned faculty presenters on topics spanning the mental health field. Programs are designed and accredited for all members of the mental health team with the mission of improving patient outcomes through education.
The 2023 Psych Congress national meeting will take place September 6-10 in Nashville. For more information or to register for this and other upcoming Psych Congress events, visit psychcongress.com.
