February 27, 2019
Podcast series will be hosted by renowned hematologist and medical oncologist Chadi, Nabhan, MD, MBA, FACP and will cover the most pressing and controversial topics in cancer
Malvern, PA (February 26, 2019) — To further inform the current conversation among oncology care stakeholders on important, clinically relevant topics and therapies, the Journal of Clinical Pathways (JCP), an HMP peer-reviewed publication, today announced the launch of a new podcast series titled “Outspoken Oncology”.
Few would disagree that the delivery of appropriate medical care to patients requires proactive and harmonized efforts at communication between all stakeholders. Outspoken Oncology is dedicated to facilitating candid discussion among all stakeholders on the most pressing—and often controversial—topics in cancer care today. Episodes will cover topics such as artificial intelligence, next-generation sequencing, medication errors, shared-decision making, and CAR-T therapy challenges.
Hosting the podcast is hematologist and medical oncologist Chadi Nabhan, MD, MBA, FACP, who currently serves as Executive Vice president and Chief Medical Officer at Aptitude Health, a global health care company. With more than 18 years of clinical practice experience, Dr. Nabhan is interested in all aspects of health care delivery, treatment, leadership, mentorship, and policy. Dr. Nabhan was named Top Doctor for Medical Oncology by Chicago magazine in 2016 and was selected as one of the Top Cancer Doctors in the US by Newsweek Health in 2015. Dr. Nabhan has over 300 peer-reviewed articles, abstracts, or book chapters tackling various topics in health care. In addition, he has special research interest in lymphoid malignancies.
“I have always believed that patients stand to be served best when there is constant and healthy communication among care professionals from across the care continuum. It is my hope that the transparent conversations and debates on our episodes will challenge listeners’ current perspectives and generate even more discussions and joint efforts in the field,” said Dr. Nabhan. “I want to approach oncology from the angles of all involved; my goal is to bring together views from multiple parties and never shy from controversy.”
Episodes will be released twice a month to start and will target a variety of cancer care stakeholders including oncologists in community and academic settings, those involved in pharma and patient advocacy, and policy makers.

About Journal of Clinical Pathways
Journal of Clinical Pathways was founded in 2015 to capture the evolving landscape in health care toward value-based care delivery and reimbursement and away from a fee-for-service system. This shift towards value-based medicine combined with innovations in big data has brought clinical pathways to the forefront as a means to drive precision and optimization of care for patients. Journal of Clinical Pathways addresses the potential of clinical pathways to address rising health care costs, mitigate patient risk, reduce variability, and achieve better, more predictable clinical outcomes. In this unique publication, physicians, payers, and health care executives share methods, insights, and results of projects to design, implement, evaluate, and update clinical pathways in their organizations. Journal of Clinical Pathways is specifically positioned to address the design and implementation of value-based care approaches; the use of clinical and real-world evidence to drive treatment decision-making; and the early learnings and experiences of managed care professionals and health care organizations as they implement new models for achieving high-value care.
