Our faculty represent different specialties and they are truly friends, demonstrating that this is how it can be better for all of us — especially our patients.

When multiple disciplines in vascular medicine work together, patients win.

The upcoming Peripheral Vascular Trainee Lab (PVTL), to be held October 12-13 in Chicago, will bring together fellows and residents in the fields of interventional radiology, interventional cardiology, and vascular surgery for a hands-on, multidisciplinary training experience. PVTL was designed specifically to encourage collaborative education and foster camaraderie among historically isolated specialties, which can make a bigger impact on patients.

Trainee-focused education is a chance to develop comprehensive changes in the current PVD landscape that can positively impact the future. The early stage of your career traditionally focuses on developing expertise within your specific field. PVTL will provide an experience where trainees can expand their horizons while recognizing the interconnected nature of healthcare disciplines and the immense value this brings to patients.

The PVTL educational program will feature a mix of venous and arterial topics, with opportunities to network with expert presenters, industry supporters in the Exhibit Hall, and other trainees.

Sessions include:

-    Case-based sessions – Aortoiliac and Femoropopliteal Interventions; BTK and BTA Interventions; and Acute & Chronic DVT Algorithms.

-    Hands-on workshops – Simulator and Cadaver Lab

-    PVD Clinical Management & Practice Building

-    Debate – PAD & CLTI Specialties and Sites of Service

-    Non-Endovascular Approaches to PVD

-    M&M cases

-    Rapid-fire PVD case battles

Our faculty represent different specialties and they are truly friends, demonstrating that this is how it can be better for all of us — especially our patients.

We are pleased to offer 60 scholarships to fellows and residents to attend, which includes complimentary registration and a $500 travel stipend. This will allow scholarship recipients to expand their horizons while recognizing the interconnected nature of healthcare disciplines and the immense value of collaborative, team-based patient care.

The focus on preparing next-generation cardiovascular leaders will impact care and outcomes for patients for years to come.
